How does the Takafulink plan work for me?

We’ll help you plan the level of protection suitable for you by guiding you through all elements of the Takafulink plan.

Who can take up the Takafulink plan?


Anyone between 19 and 60 years old can take up the plan. You can also take up the plan. You can also take up this plan for your child who is under 19 years of age.

How do I start?


First, determine your protection needs, such as your basic cover and other optional and supplemental benefits. Then, decide on an affordable amount to set aside every month.

What Are The Charges6?



Takafulink is based on the Wakalah Model where the Takaful Operator deducts 
a charge from the contributions before allocation/crediting into the PUA, ISA 
and IUA. For certificate/rider term 20 years or more, the agreed schedule is 
as per below:

If the term is less than 20 years, the Takaful Operator will reduce the charge accordingly and allocate higher percentage into your PUA and ISA.
A part of the Wakalah charge will be used for agents’ commission and other distribution related expenses.
Other charges include:
Service Charge
• This is for certificate servicing expenses that are debited from PUA.
• RM5 payable monthly


Asset Management Charge
• Comprises of the investment management expenses for the PUA and IUA.
• The charges are levied daily based on the corresponding PUA fund value and reflected in the unit price.
• For each Takafulink Fund, the charge is as below and is subjected to revision in future:

Risk Management Charge
• 30% of the gross Tabarru will be deducted every month. This is the charge for risk management of Tabarru’ Fund.

Tabarru’
• Represents the amount that the participant willingly relinquishes in order to help contribute to the benefits for all participants who are entitled to the benefits.

• Levied monthly based on your age, gender, smoking status, occupation class (if applicable) and sum covered.


* The above fees and charges may vary from time to time with a 90 days’ notice given.

Important notes:

• This Takaful product is tied to the performance of the underlying assets. It is
not a pure investment product such as unit trusts.
• The certificate will not provide benefit amount from Tabarru’ Fund on
termination, expiry or maturity of the certificate.
• The benefits of the investment fund will be based on the actual performance
of the fund and it is not guaranteed.
• The investment risk of the investment fund will be borne solely by the
certificate owner and the benefits may be less than the total contributions
contributed to investment fund.
• Should you wish your takaful coverage to continue in the event that you stop
making contributions to this plan, it is important that you give us your consent
to deduct Tabarru’, Service Charge and Risk Management Charge for Optional
Benefits (if any) and Supplementary Benefits (if any) from your accounts.
Without this consent the Optional Benefits and/or any Supplementary Benefits
you have chosen will cease even if there are sufficient units in your respective
accounts.

How does Takaful Pelindung work for me?


This is a yearly renewable Takaful Personal Accident plan that ensures you are secured through trying periods in your life.

Am I eligible for the Takaful Pelindung Plan?

You are eligible if you are between 18 to 65 years old.

How much is the contribution that I have to pay?


The amount of contribution will depend on the selected plan and the classification of your occupation. You are also required to pay RM10 for the stamp duty of the certificate.

What are the basic benefits of this Plan?

  • Accidental Death (AD) & Permanent Disablement (PD): Should AD or PD occur, the sum covered specified in the benefit schedule in accordance with the scale of benefits listed below will be paid.
  • Medical Expenses: We will pay reimbursement based on the actual medical and surgical expenses that do not exceed the amount specified on the benefit schedule below. The medical treatment must be administered by a qualified registered medical practitioner within 12 calendar months after the date of the accident (provided that the first expense is incurred within 26 weeks after the date of the accident).
  • Compassionate Allowance: Should AD occur, a total up to RM2,000 will be paid.
  • Repatriation Expenses: We will pay reimbursement for cost incurred to send the Covered Person’s mortal remains back to Malaysia or his/her country of origin in the event of AD. The reimbursement will be based on the actual repatriation expenses up to RM5,000.

a. AD/PD is 20% of the participant’s sum covered and 100% for other benefits
b. Non-working children aged 12 months to 18 years old (irrespective of the number of children)
c. Weekly benefit is not applicable to children.

What are the additional benefits that I can add to this Plan?

  • Disappearance due to accident (after one year)
  • Exposure to natural elements
  • Natural perils like tsunami, earthquake, flood, lightning, windstorm and landslide
  • Unprovoked murder and assault
  • Accidental drowning or accidental suffocation
  • Accidental food and drinks poisoning
  • Unprovoked and accidental animal or insect bites

What are the major exclusions?

  • War risk
  • Nuclear weapon or nuclear related risk
  • Travelling in an aircraft as a pilot or a member of the crew
  • Travelling in a helicopter
  • Pre-existing physical or mental defects or infirmity
  • Childbirth, miscarriage and pregnancy risk
  • Insanity, suicide or attempted suicide
  • Committing or attempting to commit unlawful act
  • Participating in any professional sports
  • Terrorism risk

What is meant by surplus sharing?


You are entitled to a share of the surplus (if any) as long as you haven’t made any claim during the Takaful period. The surplus will be allocated to you by providing a rebate to you when you renew your coverage. The basis of the rebate will be determined by PruBSN Takaful in an equitable way.

At the end of each financial year, if there is an investment profit, this will be shared between the participant and the company at a 70:30 ratio respectively.

PruBSN UMMAH

How can PruBSN Ummah assist you on top of your Tabung Haji savings?

PruBSN Ummah is not a replacement for your Tabung Haji account. It complements your Tabung Haji savings by providing you with additional savings and takaful protection.

How does sharing of Investment Profit on Mudharabah Principles work?

The Mudharabah allows you to share any investment profit from your account and Tabarru’ fund. You will receive 80% of the profit while we will receive 20% from it. Your profit will be placed back into your account and Tabarru’ fund respectively.

How much do I contribute for this plan?

The minimum monthly contribution is RM 50. However, your actual contribution amount shall depend on the following:
  • your age
  • your amount and term of coverage
  • your health status
  • your occupation (if applicable)
  • your gender
  • your payment method
  • the frequency of payment whether monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly

How do I benefit from Islamic Will Writing services?


We will provide you with all the necessary arrangement needed for your will to be made in a hassle free environment. The will you make will be managed by Amanah Raya Berhad.
You will only need to pay a one-time fee for this service.

How can I enhance PruBSN Ummah coverage?


You may enhance your PruBSN Ummah benefits with the following options with additional contributions.


Crisis Shield Provides you with a part of your basic sum covered amount if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness.

Contributor Pays for your annual PruBSN Ummah Takaful contributions if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness.

How do I make arrangement for Badal Hajj?

In the unfortunate event of your death or total and permanent disabilty before performing Hajj, we will make the necessary arrangement for Badal Hajj to be performed for you. We will pay RM 3,000 to your nominee (preferably your next of kin aged 18 years and above) or Tabung Haji Travel & Services for them to perform Badal Hajj for you.

What is the loyalty bonus and Hajj allowance, and how do I earn it?


Loyalty bonus is a special benefit designed for being our loyal customer. Your loyalty bonus is based on a percentage of your contribution that increases the longer you are in the plan. You will receive your loyalty bonus when you:
  • Perform Hajj (as a Hajj Allowance), or
  • Survive until the end of the plan, or
  • Become totally and permanently disabled, or
  • Pass away
The loyalty bonus that you receive as Hajj Allowance can either be used as your pocket money upon your confirmation to go for Hajj, or it can also be used to secure the financial needs of your loved ones at home while you perform Hajj.
In addition, your loyalty bonus will continue to grow even after you have used it as a Hajj Allowance for as long as you continue to pay the contribution. The loyalty bonus will be payable subject to the events mentioned above.

Who can take up this plan?

This plan is for people aged between 19 – 60 years old next birthday who want a plan that not only gives them protection and savings, but also assists them in fulfilling their religious obligations.

What are the benefits that PruBSN Ummah can offer?



Loyalty Bonus¹
This is benefit for being our loyal customer. You will earn this benefit when you complete your takaful period. Additionally, this bonus will also be paid in the event of death or total and permanent disability on top of your other takaful benefits
In order to ensure you have peace of mind during Hajj, you will also be given a Hajj allowance, which is a part of the loyalty bonus. The allowance is intended to supplement your expenses. You can also use it to ensure the financial needs of your family at home are taken care of whilst your perform your obligations in Mecca.

Withdrawals of savings for Hajj and Umrah
You can withdraw part of your savings from your account to supplement the need for your journey for Hajj or Umrah, subject to the following conditions:
  • Only 1 withdrawal is allowed for Umrah and Hajj each throughout the certificate term.
  • Withdrawals can only be made after the 5th certificate year
  • Each withdrawal must be at least RM500 and at most 70% of your account balance prior to withdrawing.
  • There must be a minimum balance of RM2,000 left in your account after withdrawal.




Death and Total and Permanent Disability Benefits (TPD)
Upon your death or total and permanent disability, you or your nominee will receive cash equivalent to your coverage i.e. takaful benefit amount.
In addition, your family will receive an additional RM2,000 as a form of compassionate benefit upon your unfortunate passing that could be used for funeral or other related expenses.

Double Your Takaful Benefits² While on Hajj or Umrah
You will receive double coverage i.e. takaful benefit amount, in the unfortunate case of your death or total and permanent disability (TPD) while performing your Hajj or Umrah.

Badal Hajj
In the event of your passing or suffering from total and permanent disability before you have the opportunity to perform Hajj, we will ensure your Hajj obligation is fulfilled by paying your nominee or a third party to perform Badal Hajj for you.

Critical Illness Benefits
We will provide you with a part of your basic coverage amount as a financial assistance if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness.
Futhermore, we will also ensure that your protection and savings in the plan will continue as the takaful contributions will be paid continuously for you.
This cover is optional for this plan.

Islamic Will Writing
We will arrange for you basic Islamic Will Writing service managed by Amanah Raya Berhad. This service is optional.
